I clench my teeth at night?!

Question:

I clench my teeth at night?

Apparently I have really strong jaws, and the roots of my back lower molar have broken off (confirmed by dental x-rays). Can I pull the tooth at home? It's REALLY loose. Would I have to sew up the hole or is gauze sufficient? (If I have to sew it up I'm going to a dentist. I'm pretty tough but don't think I can handle that). I have two boys who could help. Sounds funny, I know, but I'm serious. This hurts, and I am unable to eat very well. :-)

Answers:

If the roots are broken off from the rest of the tooth, a dentist is the way to go. Molars are problem teeth because ot the multiple roots, and leaving the roots in will leave you open to all kinds of problems, not the least one is infection. Infection in your teeth can cause the poisions to make a quick trip to your brain.

Go for the dentist and get it done right. Could save your life, no matter how tough you are.
