Is it ok if I have 24 teeth?!

Question: I"m 13 years old, and i have only 24 teeth. 12 at the top and 12 in the bottom. I'm getting worried because everyone else has 28 teeth (not including wisdom teeth) and also i don't know if my wisdom teeth are growing but i can see them... and they bother me alot... what should i do and whats happening?

you either haven't gotten your 12 yr molars yet, which is very possible or you may have 4 missing teeth. I doubt that you are getting your wisdom teeth, more likely its your 12 year molars You should have on each jaw , 2 central incisors, 2 lateral incisors. 2 canines, then 4 premolars, then 3 molars, which include the wisdom teeth.

i'm sure 4 teeth isn't a big deal. are you sure you are counting right?

Lucky you. You have 20 more than me.

no

You need to go to a dentist about your wisdom teeth.

thats just fine

I only have 24 teeth....no wisdom teeth either.

My dad has 9 wisdom teeth though, and he hasn't gotten them taken out.

Wait nevermind...I just counted and my mouth is weird...I have 12 teeth on bottom and 14 on top...so 26, I have recounted them a few times and it's still the same

Probably undergrowth dude, I have about 30 teeth atm.

SURE,JUST DON'T EAT STAKE...TILL THE OTHERS COME IN... :0

No , it is fine. I hadn't began growing in my 13th and 14th teeth when I was 13, but they grew in. Just because most people have those extra four teeth when they're your age, doesn't mean that you won't grow them, or that there is anything wrong. I'm not a dentist, but I say there's nothing to worry about. Just in case, ask your dentist or orthodontist next time you have an appointment, if it will make you feel better. But I honestly think that there's nothing to worry about. =]

i have 26

You will grow your primary molars in the next year or so-you may never get your wisdom teeth through, or you may need to have them removed if they come in wrong or if your mouth doesn't have enough room for them. The teeth you see coming in now are your last set of primary molars and they will be totally in by the time you turn 16.Wisdom teeth come in between 16-22 years of age.

just sellotape some in
can i have 10 points for a best answer?

There is nothing to worry about, it actually may be a good thing. Less teeth means you have less chance of having overcrowding and needing braces. So, even though most people have 28, a lot of people eventually have braces and have to go through extracting 4. So, really you are ahead of the game...
However, if your wisdom teeth are coming in and bothering you a lot, I would definitely go to a dentist about that.
