How much does it cost to get a filling?!

Question: I noticed a small hole in my tooth a few months ago and basically ignored it, hoping it would go away (I know, bad choice) but now it looks like it's getting bigger and I'm getting worried. I'm booking an appointment to see my dentist tommorow morning. question is, how much will this cost me? I've had people say within the hundreds and that sounds insane.

It depends on how big the cavity is and what material you choose to fill it with as well as which tooth (when looking at what the insurance will pay)
I just had a consultation friday with my dentist and the normal resin composite (tooth color) that many people choose would be about 100-150 a tooth (with insurance it could be around 45-75). However, it really depends on how big the cavity is. The bigger the cavity the more it will cost.

It is determined on how many sides of the tooth must recieve work. A tooth has 5 sides. I won't go into the big names, but the tongue, cheek, front, back, and chewing sides. I usually get at least three sides having to be drilled, maybe four...it's like $50 per side or between $150 and $200 for me. Call the guy you go to and ask.

Free for me :-) I live in the uk and am 16 in full time education. Sorry, i don't know
