I had the same thing happen to me. I had a filling and a piece of it fell out and caused a hole in my tooth. Make an appointment with your dentist to get it fixed. Since I wasn't in pain I had to wait two weeks. They told me to use Listerine twice a day, and keep the hole clean.

This past Tuesday they fixed it. When I got in they looked at the tooth, took an x-ray, numbed my gum, and then gave me a shot of Novocaine. Once the Novocaine kicked in they drilled out the old filling, poked around to see how much decay there was, cleaned out the hole, drilled out the little spot of decay, filled it, checked the bite, drilled to make adjustments, polished the filling (white filling). Then I was good to go. The numbing lasted for three hours. The only pain I had was my jaw was sore from keeping my mouth open for a half hour.

You will be fine. I was really scared because I hadn't been to the dentist for a while so I was scared of the pain. I did just fine.

The cost before insurance was 198.00. I paid $50.

It means your tooth is decaying and you need to get to a dentist asap. If it hurts it's probably infected. An infected tooth can cause lots of problems with your health and lots of pain, see a dentist quickly.

You just need your dentist to put a filling in, it's no biggy, don't worry.

you have a cavity. go to the dentist

it has to be the hole caused by little bones in chicken or mutton if u r a non veggie! but do consult a doc coz i ve had a hole like this before and negligence caused a tooth cavity!

You'll experience more pain when the hole gets bigger. Have it filled with amalagm or have your tooth removed.

dont be scared you may have chipped it or it is the beginning of a cavity. your dentist can fix this real quick and easy just make an appointment soon so it doesnt get bigger

It means that you have a cavity, Einstein.

I have exactly the same thing!! I bit a popcorn seed and chipped a small hole. But I do know that if I do not get it taken care of I will have a big problem to worry about.

I have been avoiding it, but reading this reminds me to call my dentist TODAY!!
