Braces alternatives?!

Question: ok im in high school. ive already had braces but i need them again. dont want invisalign and i would LOVe to avoid conventional braces...any other alternatives?? i jsut dont want to go throughhigh school with braces...

my moms friend had like braces that you kept on for life...they were like behind her teeth and worked just like braces...but costed a bit more. whats teh deal with those?? please helP!!!!!!
