I was wondering if someone could help about power chains for braces?!

Question: I recently got braces put on(no less than a week ago) and I noticed that for some reason, when I bite down, I only feel my left lateral tooth. I am unable to feel all the other teeth, and no, it isn't bigger than the other ones, I just have an unusual bite. On top of that, It really is starting to hurt from all that pressure on one tooth, especially the front one. My next appointment is next month on the 5th, but I really don't think I can wait that long... I heard something about power chains, and I wanted to know if you think I can reschedule to have an earlier appointment and request them, along with elastics to fix this troublesome problem? Thank you for all your help.

You can schedule another appointment to have them look at it.

I had braces and for a while my teeth didn't feel like they lined up right.
So i think it's normal.
it takes sometimes years of different bands and stuff to get your teeth moved correctly.
so you'll just have to get used to it and they will adjust normally.
the orthodontist knows what he's doing.

they'll give you a power chain or rubber bands if you need them.
right now they want your teeth to go in a certain direction so you should expect it to feel a little awkward and different at first.

i had braces for 4 years because i didn't listen to my OD about wearing the elastics for the right amount of time. they made my mouth pretty sore. you get used to all that pressure after a while. I know it sucks. I also agree with what the first person to respond said. my best advice is to just listen to doc, wear your elastics when you get them, just do what ever they say. cuz it'll pay off in the long run. you'll have them for a shorter amount of time and have a beutiful smile when its all over. if the pain really concerns you, just call the docs office and ask if you should still be feeling the pain like you are. Just look forward to that day when you finally get them off and you have the perfect smile you wanted. good luck!!
