Filling troubles!?!

Question: Hell, this morning I had 2 fillings, both on theback of my front two teeth. Neither fillings are the silver ones but when I got home, about an hour later I was drinking and one fell out...I'm paranoid about the other one now, I phoned the dentist and made another appointment for Friday...which is 4 days away :/. With it being the back of my front tooth I am very worried because they aren't the thickest of teeth and if the remaining frontal part of the tooth that wasnt drilled were to crumble or soemthing I would have a big gap in my tooth...which is obviously the last thing that I want. Also because the fillings are at the front of my mouth I seem to be catching them with my tongue even when swallowing, should I call back and make an emergency appointment for tomorrow morning or will it be fine? I'm not in alot of pain really - I can obviously feel it but it's managable...I just dont want to ruin my tooth!

What should I do?

Front fillings can be hard to keep in, especially if the area is very thin and the filling is large. It does not have as much support as fillings on back teeth do. If the dentist is unable to get this new one to stay in, you might want to consider crowning these teeth. Be sure not to bite anything with these front two teeth. It may have been just a freak thing and the bond on them was not properly set due to too much moisture.

True, it may be a fluke that one of the fillings fell out, but they should be smooth. There is no reason you should be catching your tongue on them.

you can wait for your 4 day appointment it will be no problem if you avoid cold food drink and hot also, in order to avoid damage of your nerve(pulp)

I think it'd be ok to wait for the appointment. In the meantime, avoid foods and drinks that are cold and/or sweet. Also most general stores sell temporary fillings. They're only a few bucks.
