Do you need support when you get your wisdom teeth removed?!

Question: I am getting my wisdom teeth removed next month but my family will be out of town and I'll be all alone. Is it ok to drive home myself and stay alone the night after surgery or should I have someone there in case there is any emergency?

I just had my wisdom teeth removed last week and you absolutely have to have somebody to care for you for the first 24 hours. My grandma went with me and drove me there (the oral surgeon gave me a pill to make me loopy before I got there) and drove me home (because I was still recovering from the anesthesia) and watch me. All I did was sleep it off and really didn't need any help. Just make sure you have a ride and they really don't have to stick around, just make sure you're propped up when your sleeping.

PS To the surgeon, mine was done under general anesthesia. It all depends on if they are pulling or cutting them out.

you need someone to drive you home and there just incase something happens

well if you're getting laughing gas or put to sleep you won't be able to drive yourself, actually, they wont do the procedure unless someone is with you to drive you home... if you're only using novacaine then you can drive alone, but i would suggest that you're not alone, get a friend or someone to be with you, cause you will be sore and groggy from any pain killers they give you, plus you feel shitty so you need someone to cheer you up

if you are put to sleep for the extractions, you will be too drowsy to drive ..... have a friend available to drive you home

You should have someone drive you and watch you. I did not do well with the pain and had to have someone pick up my medicine. Then I was out of it. Maybe a friend of yours can come over and "sit" you, just in case.

the extraction of the tooth is done under local anesthesia. you will not need any support. all the best.

If they put you to sleep you will need someone to drive you home. If they just use something like Novocaine you'll be fine and be able to drive yourself home.

you need support. the first day will be HORRIBLE. you'll have tons of blood out and so much more, you'll be drowsy (sp?) after the surgery it's not best to drive.
