will tightening braces more often make my teeth straighter faster?

my jaw is crooked, do you think will braces be able to fix that?

is there a site you know of that gives examples of different people and how long each person had to have braces on?

i figure tightening braces more often will cause more pain, im good with pain so it doesnt matter

Tightening can only be done so often because the bonds between your jaw and the roots of your teeth have to rearrange and they can only do it so fast. Not sure what you mean by your jaw being crooked... the younger you are the more they can do. I know someone who had them on 5 years, but she got hit in the mouth with a softball while she had them on and all her teeth got knocked loose, so that probably was why it took so long. Not sure about the retainer... haven't gotten there yet... still 8 months left on my braces. The ligatures (square things on braces) come in 20 or 30 different colors at my doc's office. Your orthodontist should be able to answer all these questions for you too. Hopefully yours is as nice as mine. Good luck with your braces! The time really goes pretty fast once you get them on.
