Can tooth implant be done to replace small tooth( small gap)?!
Question: My dentist said that my tooth (gap) was too small, and the tooth implant was not possible. He receommended me to have bridges instead. I prefer to have the implant since i do not want to loose part of my good theeth. My dentist is a general dentist. Should I request him to refer me to see a specialist.
Thanks

Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 20 years. I would recommend you see an Oral Surgeon to discuss the possibly of a mini implant. There are so many different sizes now and you need to speak to someone that does this every day and has years of experience. I personally try to always avoid cutting down healthy teeth for a bridge if at all possible. And bridges have to be replaced in 15-20 years. There is also gum recession and other issues with bridge work at your age. See a good Oral Surgeon and discuss a mini and you will be alot happier to have the implant, if possible. I know most generals mean well, but don't have as much experience as a surgeon. Good luck, and if you have any other questions, please ask. ~M
You can get fake teeth placed over your own teeth.
Many people do this when they've just had a bad luck with their teeth. It is pricey though. What they do is just take a mold of your teeth and create new ones that will then be epoxy'd over your current teeth.
Hope this helps.
he's working for you not the other way around so i think a specialist is a great idea. if the gap is from losing a tooth, you should be able to get an implant, if it's from teeth separating, you might need braces for a while
Bridge is good too u know. My friends had one done 15 years ago still works on all kinds of food.
