Is it harmful to chew on ice?!

Question: Ice breaks teeth. If you MUST chew ice, choose ice from an ice maker and let it sit around for a while before you start to crunch. Shaved ice is even better.

Chewing ice (or other foreign matter) in excess is for SOME reason associated with anemia. Ask your doctor about this and consider getting a blood test for anemia.

so i've heard.

no

No!

Only if you break your teeth.

YES. most definetely. as for the people above. they wont know how harmful it is until they get a reaction. Chewing ice is terrible, it can be a bad habit, chewing ice gradually chips your teeth, and can lead to cracks between the teeth in the future. it is also especially bad to chew if you have braces. but generally its not a good thing to chew on ice all the time, as for it will catch up on you one day, and you may have to fix that chipped, or even cracked tooth.

Not only will chewing ice crack and chip your teeth, but
also causes misalignment of teeth. The pressure you
exert on the surface help cause the gaps between them.
