Is it necessary to have wisdom teeth removed?
In the U.S., it seems like everyone has their wisdom teeth removed, but in Morocco it's only done when absolutely necessary. I've lived in Morocco for awhile now, but my wisdom teeth just came in last year (about 10 years too late, oddly enough). I only have the two bottom ones, and they're almost fully in, but kind of crooked. Must I remove them?

If they are only partially in, yes get them out. It will be a major source of gum problems later in that area. It could affect the bone behind your 2nd molar too. Some dentists believe it could cause crowding of your other teeth. Its a domino effect. If you are under 30 I would recommend doing it now. You heal better when you are younger. Getting wisdom teeth extracted is just an example of "preventative" dentistry.
