I just got my wisdom teeth out 4 days ago and I can see the hole where the dentist went into to take out .....
the teeth. Is it a problem if food or plaque gets in there. I rinse with saltwater 3 times a day and I use a medical rinse 2 a day.
Answers:
If your dentist didn't give you a syringe, just try the best you can. This may mean some LIGHT rinsing after meals (shake your head around verses swishing the heck out of your mouth). If your mouth can open wide enough, you may want to remove some things manually, just be VERY careful that you don't hurt the area with your fingers/toothbrush/whatever you are using.
You may also want to get a syringe yourself and fill it w/salt water, but again, don't squirt it too rapidly or you could dislodge the clot and cause a dry socket.
