I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the tooth is a loss, but if you can see the decay those teeth will definitely need treatment - maybe just a filling, maybe a root canal, but go in and have your mouth checked out soon. You don't have to give up soda entirely either. Any time we eat sugars the bacteria in our mouth eat as well and they produce acid as a waste product which breaks down teeth. Minerals in our saliva like fluoride help build our teeth back up. It's an on going battle, the more sugar we eat the more the bacteria win, but you can help neutralize their acid by rinsing and swishing with water after drinking or eating sugary things. The biggest thing you can do is reduce the amount of bacteria by flossing and brushing regularly. ACT or another fluoride rinse is also good, drinking fluoridated water is better.

You will have to get that suckker yanked very soon or it could get infected deep into the bone causeing much more pain and problems!

That tooth is too far gone to fix. You are going to have to get a fake one. Stop with the soda for the sake of the rest of your teeth.

There is nothing to do to reverse the damage to that tooth it will probably be extracted at your appointment. But you could start using crest pro health the day and night time tooth paste, also use ACT mouthwash. It really helps, use it twice a day, following the instructions on the back of the bottle.

It probably needs to be extracted....

unless it can be filled or have a cap put on.... it may need a root canal.

get a fluoride rinse... it always helps

and if you drink soda don't sip it. the longer that the tooth is in contact with the soda the more it willl hurt it. so dont let it sit in your mouth.
sorry
