It could very well be sinus pain. I have had a lot of sinus pain in the past and usually it is felt in my teeth. Mostly the back teeth and it can be on one side.

Does your head hurt too? Your nose stuffy? Bend down and touch your toes. Does the pain get worse in your head? If so it is a sinus problem.

Could be an abscess or it could be the high point of your bite and this would put excessive pressure on the tooth nerve. X-ray will determine cause.

GEE----THANKS FOR THE VERY ILLUSTRATED IMAGE----HOPE i DON'T THINK OF THIS NEXT TIME i HAVE TO GO TO THE DENTIST.
---DON'T WANNA CHOKE ON A "UTENSIL"

TILL ya do see a dentist a warm wet tea bag will bring you immediate relief

It might be a cavity, or a cracked filling, or a fractured tooth. And just to reassure you.....in my 25 years of practicing dentistry, I've never seen an instrument dropped down someone's throat....But when i was younger, my biggest fear was that the belt from the belt-driven instruments would fly off and hit me in the face. I was never scared of the dentist.....just the equipment....lol. Good luck tomorrow....hopefully it's just a quick little filling.
