Call your dentist back and let them know that nothing is relieving the pain. Beg for an earlier appointment or a referral to somewhere that can see you earlier than Friday. Maybe they can squeeze you into some emergency time. Let them know that you're available to come in anytime in case they have a cancellation in their schedule. Sorry you're in so much pain.....hope it's resolved soon.

UPDATE: sorry i didn't answer your question about the cloves.....here's what i read on the internet: 1/2 tsp. of ground clove and a few drops of water to create a paste.
Apply this directly to the site of the pain and allow it to sit.
Within normally a few minutes, the anestetic properties of the clove will take affect and deaden the pain at the tooths root.
Leave the paste in place as long as possible. It's non-harmful if swallowed so allowing for normal swallowing.
This normally lasts for several hours

Hope this helps a bit.....

UPDATE: call your local health food store or pharmacy to get clove oil......put the oil on a cotton ball and bite down on it.

that numbing cream works well. Oragel i believe? Hope it feels better soon. I'm dealing with shin splints right now and can't find a soothing method for it. It hurttsss haha.

6 advil, warm salt water, and the clove oil does help.

When I had a BAD tooth ache, it helped when I brushed my teeth. Also but some tooth paste (use paste, not gel) on the sore tooth for a minute, then rinse it off. If you don't rinse it off, it could eat away at your tooth enamale. Orajel also workes great, but it only works for about 10-15 minutes then you need to reapply, so get a couple tubes. The bottle says you can only use so much at a time, or in a certain time period, but if it helps calm down the pain, use it!!! I used it when ever I needed to, and I lived - it didn't hurt me. Keep taking the pain meds too!! Maybe your doctor can give you something stronger to hold you over until you see the dentist. Hope this helps!!!!

oral gel
