Why do they ask you if you have any cavities or holes in your teeth before givin!

Question:

Why do they ask you if you have any cavities or holes in your teeth before giving you (anestheisa) spelling?!?

Or an epidural?

Answers:

When receiving general anesthesia, the doctor puts an endotracheal tube using a laryngoscope. If there are problems with teeth, a tooth may be damaged during the procedure. The doctor must be aware of any false teeth, loose teeth, cavities, gum problems, etc. to prevent complications.

Similarly, for an epidural, the anesthesiologist must be aware of dental problems in case there is a complication and the patient needs to be intubated either because the epidural failed or because the spinal level of the epidural is too high and the patient needs artificial ventilation.
