Spacers.
It's normally just general pain. The entire tooth just hurts. Ever get a tooth ache? Like that. After the braces are in for a while it'll just feel like a mild tugging sensation, that you will get used to and isn't in the least painful.
buy some oragel..the stuff people put on babies gums to ease the pain of teething. they make adult strength stuff. it works. spacers are more uncomfortable than hurting. braces really only hurt for a few days until your teeth shift then they don't hurt anymore. make sure you eat really good the day or two before you get your braces adjusted just incase they do something that makes your mouth hurt.
I never found either particularly sore. I couldn't even feel the spacers when I had them and my braces only hurt when I ate for the first two days, because it felt like there was a bit of pressure, like something stuck between my jaw. It may feel a little like someone is pushing on your teeth, but not really, because you get used to them really quickly.
Nothing compares to the soreness from my tooth extraction 2 days ago. Now that is making my jaw ache.
the top braces didnt hurt that bad. i think the spacers hurt more, but the bottom braces deff hurt more i coudlnt ear for like more than a week
