Why when we pay so much tax isnt dental treatment completely free on nhs?!

Question:

Why when we pay so much tax isnt dental treatment completely free on nhs?

I recenly had some dental work done on the nhs and it cost £175 surely with all the taxes we pay dental treatment should be completely free??

Answers:

It used to be completely free, but over time the NHS has been forced to cut back on dental treatments because it just does not have the money. We all expect so much of the NHS, but it is so under-funded that it can hardly cope. So to pay for the more important treatments, the NHS makes us pay a little for some of the treatments. If you want it to be completely free on the occasion, you should pay more taxes.
