Effect of Protiens on Teeth?!

Question:

Effect of Protiens on Teeth?

Answers:

The important time for teeth is the onset of puberty when the milk teeth start to fall out [tooth fairy time] and when the second and final [no more after this] set start to grow.

A poor diet while the second [adult] set of teeth are growing, may result in poor quality teeth.

At the same time as the adult teeth are growing, the skull is continuing to grow and reshape and also the jaw bone. This can in some cases result in teeth becoming crammed into the mouth so that they overlap.

The cheapest way to overcome this sort of problem is extraction of overlapping teeth, but it must be done before age 16, otherwise, gaps.

The human tooth is mostly made up of a heavy enamel which is made mostly from the same basic product as human bone.

If you live in a soft water area, your teeth will not be as good as people who live in and grow up in a hard water area. Here in UK about 70% of our water is 'hard', coming from lime or chalky sources.

Calcium is the secret of good teeth. Children should therefore be encouraged from an early age to drink at least a quarter of a pint of milk per day. Much more equals fatso.
