Well, your surgeon's office should have reviewed this information with you already. But, I'll do it for you. You will receive anesthesia, and most likely will need a ride home. You may swell for a couple of days. You will need to rest for the first 36-48 hours as much as possible. Keep a cold pack on for at least the first 12 hours. Beginning 24 hours after surgery, GENTLY rinse with warm salt water. Very gently. Continue that routine for 3-5 days, at least 3 times a day. You may have some pain or soreness for a couple of days, but your surgeon should prescribe pain meds. Do not smoke while your gums heal. You will risk a dry socket; infection. Please call the oral surgeon's office so you won't flip out! Have fun! :)

I took my best friend to get all 4 teeth out- She was put under, using General Anesthesia, and the whole process took a half hour, tops. She was very very groggy afterwards, lots of pain where the gauze was, and could barely walk, let alone talk, for a good couple of hours.
Couldn't eat solid foods the rest of the day, and she had some prescriptions written for her that made her sleep most of the day.

bring an ipod or something if they aren't knocking u out just chill you don't really feel a thing
