Many strange goings on at Dentist's office?!

Question: I signed up for a dental discount plan and went to the dentist. Long story short, they mapped out treatment plan for 10 thousand w/ discount plan. I told them absolutely not. They applied for care credit for me, I was approved for 9,500. They desended on me like timeshare salesman. Numb in the chair waiting for full mouth deep cleaning, 2 different staff members tag teamed me to get me to "committ" to treatment plan. I told them just do the cleaning, and we'll see how it goes. More pressure to commit..finally I agreed to the plan for the top teeth. They billed care credit 5,403. When I got the statement I couldn't believe it! I've had to date:full mouth cleaning, 4 xp, prep for crown,(no root canal)and given a temp.partial. I called for 2 wks about this billing, finally was told that they sent me a check 1912, said they couldn't adjust the billing. 2 wks later no check, no itemized statement I asked for, (even if check was sent, the bal. of 3500 is too high) Am I being scammed?

Oh Jaysus...
1st, make copies (many) of everything you have..write out an affidavit an have it notarized. Demand copies of all records from the Dentist ..write them a letter, and Send them a copy ..at the bottom, put a cc; and all you are sending the letter and Dental copies to..report this to the municipal fraud division, the American dental assn., the licensing bureau, the Atty General, your state congress/senate...keep going with any more you can think of...and Find yourself an attorney so that you may sue for pain, suffering and loss of finances due to the time you have had to use attending to the matter at hand!! (BTW, a partial temp is damaging to your teeth as well) Cal your local media, re; ALL newspapers and television news informing them of a serious fraudulent dentist in the area forcing themselves upon others while under anesthesia..be it general is no matter!! Go get em...and GET THEM FOR ALL YOU CAN GET..imagine this being done to your Grandparent..them having no heat or food due to the mass confusion done to them at such an age???

Yes.

Definitely If you are in the U.S., contact the Attorney General of your state.

In my opinion, yes you are being taken. I am so sick and tired of this happening. Please confront your dentist and let him know how you feel.!! This is unreal!

Yes, dentists are more interested in your money than your health.

Report the exact details to the "Medical and Dental Council" without delay.
They are obliged to follow this up.
Good luck

Send a copy of your complaint to the dentist's licensing college. Do the same for each of the dental hygienists.

Nothing you wrote sounds ethical. THEY NEED TO BE REPORTED. Do the RIGHT thing and REPORT!!! Refer to the internet or call another dental office to find out what the mailing address is for each licensing body.

End your patient/doctor relationship otherwise you are CONDONING their actions!!!!

Retain a lawyer and sue. Retaining a lawyer provides very different results than reporting to the respective licensing bodies. The lawyer will be able to get you monitary rewards and ensure that you have access to proper dental care at the offending dentist's/hygienists' expense.
