Toothache question?!

Question: One of my upper molars is cracked wide open and has been for about a year. Well, it finally started to hurt today and it's unbearable - mainly because of the lack of sleep.

I know I need to go to the dentist. Please don't tell me that; I'm not stupid. It's just kind of hard to see a dentist when they refuse to see you unless you pay 200 bucks up front. I have no insurance.

My question is, what household chemical, or store-bought chemical can I use to put on the exposed nerve to kill it? If I can kill the nerve, the pain will go away until I can see a dentist - when someone lends me the money.

I swear, these damned dentists around here...trust me, if it were THEM, of one of their kids in this much pain, they'd make an appointment for the very same day. All they care about it money and not how much severe pain another human being is in.

I know how you feel i have always suffered with tooth problems and the dentists never want to know.
The best thing for the pain is Nurofen i found that is the best pain killer there is for tooth ache.
Also everyone has said clove of oil works and it does.
Maybe see a doctor and explain the problem and ask for some strong pain killers or even anti-biotics. You cant carry on like this, you need to tell your dentist straight.

i know how you feel.....if i had the cash i'd pay for you,,,

Try come clove oil on it, just a little bit, that will numb it. I would take painkillers too to stop the pain. I wouldnt mess about with the nerve inside, you might end up making it worse. Hope you get it sorted soon. ouch!

I know that you are desperate and you prob need a root canal but the only thing I know of to kill dental pain is pain killers an analgesic have also heard that oil of cloves applyed directly to the tooth may soothe for a while as around friends to donate to your dental fees as this can lead to a more serious problem if left untreated good luck

Aspirin, (BC powders are better) taste nasty but works, just crush aspirin and put on tooth. If you are allergic to aspirin or are taking blood thinners please DO NOT use aspirin. and also Vodka is good, don't drink it just let it sit, and also if it is an infection causing the problem listerine is good, for numbing and killing bacteria. ( all of this is over the counter)

Go to your local pharmacist and get some clove oil. It comes in a small bottle, tastes horrible but it does the trick.
