Is porcelain celay tooth fillings worth the extra money versus regular white fil!
Question: Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 20 years, and yes they are if the conditions are right. First of all, they last longer and are more durable than composite resins fillings. They look nicer and have more of a "natural" tooth appearance. Once they are fitted and bonded in place, they can last a very long time whereas the resin fillings need to be replaced every 5-7 years. And each time, the dentist has to drill a little more tooth away to help retain the filling. Most onlays wear very well on molar teeth and as long as you practice very good oral hygiene, could last a very long time. So yes, if you someone that brushes and flosses twice a day and has professional cleanings 2 times a year, this is a good option to consider. If you have any other questions, please ask. ~M

normal white ones look fine and are .... fine ...don't bother
