hi, my husband had his wisdom teeth removed. We had insurance, and the remaining that was not covered by the insurance we paid the day of the surgery, whatever the doctor said was due. Now they are mailing us saying we still owe them money. Is that legal?

Yes, Your dentist must have overestimated the amount of money your insurance would pay. This happens especially if you are at a specialists office. Therefore your insurance paid a lesser sum leaving you with a greater portion of the charges. The dentist has a set fee and you owe the dentist that fee regardless of your insurance payment.

I suggest you set up a payment plan with your dentist if you can not afford the charges or risk being sent to a collection agency and having your credit ruined.
