Question: i am currently enrolled in school for dental hygiene. i was just seeing if there are any people who can tell me pros/cons of the job! i am excited but just wanted to see if it was really worth the school :) thanks so much!

If you are in school and you are liking working with other people in this way (personally I say YUCK) ...good for you! I know the girls at my dentist office really love what they do and the demand is such that you can really pick and choose where you want to work when you are done. Some offices have a light, fun atmosphere which would be great for you..because I'm thinking you are a really fun, cute girl!! Great jobs...not a whole lot of schooling = smart!! ? ?
You could call some Dental Hygienists and tell them you are a student and would like to know if they would be willing to let you ask them questions about the pro's & Cons of that job. Most people love to talk with folks interested in their careers.

It really depends on 2 things.
1. The area you plan on working in. Make sure there is a good demand for hygienists.
2. Do you feel that it is the right career choice for you?
Hygienists can make really good money working 2 or 3 days a week. Good hygienists need to be into the work. They need to enjoy being around people, they need to be good communicators, organized, and critical thinkers, efficient with their time, and in some offices good at sales. If you are already in the class and are having second thoughts make sure you really want to do this. If you only are in it for the money I suggest you find a different career.
