What works better to whiten your teeth? Baking Soda or Hydrogen Peroxide?!

Question: Both. Read Labels! Notice "whitening" toothpaste contains BAKING SODA, and "Listerine Whitening Mouthwash's" main ingredient is Peroxide.

DO NOT BUY WHITE STRIPS. It attacks your teeth with TOO much of these (& other) ingredients at once, leaving them painful & sensitive. Simply brush your teeth with baking soda, then take a capful of peroxide & dilute it with the same amount of water & swish (you dont have to dilute it, its just to minimize the taste). Then just brush your teeth reguarly with toothpaste if you dont like the aftertaste of the two.. good luck! Youll have a great smile

crest whtestrips are the best fastest way to whiten teeth.dont use peroxide, cause it can kill some of the good bacteria in your mouth, and accually make you worse off.

Ive heard baking soda

Hydrogen peroxide will bleach your teeth but beware...it has been proven that it changes the cellular structure....which can be a bad thing.
Baking Soda will clean silver nicely but doesn't do much for whitening the teeth as fast as peroxide.

well, i tried baking soda. it messed up my gums so i went to my dentist because my teeth were hurting and i had to use Chlorhexidine gluconate. I don't suggest baking soda. it makes your teeth more sensitive. i think that the best idea is just to use crest whitening strips. they don't cause pain!!!

Gargling once a day with hydrogen peroxide seems more effective than mixing baking soda and gargling that. Hydrogen peroxide is the main ingredient in all of those whitening strips that people use and works quite well in whitening teeth a few shades. the peroxide also helps keep the gums healthy too...side benefit.. Best investment besides a 80cent bottle of peroxide is to find a set of store brand whitening strips from CVS walgreens etc and look for them on sale. They are usually no more than $20 for a full set and cost less than the crest premium strips. It definitely makes a difference and involves 30 min a day with the strips in for 7 days depending on the product. it will whiten a few shades and be noticeable. just make sure you stick to the regimen and do it for 7 days straight, so plan well.. good luck.
