Should i go to school the first day i get my Barces on?!
Question: I am soo scared people will make fum of me if i go to school the first day i get my braces on. And i am also scared to go back to schoool if they hurt too much!!! I am gewtting my whole mouth will they hurt too much to go back to school. i am also very POPULAr so will i not be any more because of the Braces will people make fun of me or looking at me

The only reason you shouldn't go to school after getting your braces is if the appointment is on Saturday or Sunday and school is closed...
As far as being 'popular', why should having braces affect your 'status'? Your friends like you for who you are, not for what you wear or how you look.
I went back to school the first day I got braces. I even played my trumpet in the school band with no problem. Of course they're going to hurt, but you have to think about how nice your teeth will look after you get them off. And as far as I know, having braces never messed up anyone's popularity. And if that's all you're worried about, maybe you should start concentrating on your schoolwork instead of being a cheerleader. It'll help you later in life.
Well, I don't want to scare you, but having braces is going to be painful a lot more days than the day you have them put on. Just make sure you take a couple of tylenol or advil (whichever your parents advise) before you go. It shouldn't make you miss school. You'll just have to adjust what you eat for a day or two on that day and each time you have them tightened.
I had braces for nearly four years and while I hated them, I never lost any friends over it and they improved my teeth so much. You won't regret doing it.
If you have friends that would no longer like you because of braces, honestly, they aren't your real friend now.

Well, if having braces is going to hurt your popularity, then you have some bad friends. But, braces do hurt for a while. I went back the next day after getting them, so maybe you could ask your mom if you could miss that day. If she say no, you'll still be okay to go to school.
If your popular, then embrace the fact you have them. and other will follow and embrace it as well, if you act as if they should make fun of you they will.. instead, just say yea they are a pain, but it's be nice to have a perfect smile when its all over... are they going to rip on you for getting the perfect smile.? i think not, and if they do, they are not very cool anyway... if your popular your popular, its not the teeth, its you., so if you dint change nigher will your popularity.
They will not hurt, especially the first day you get them on. Sometimes when the tighten them, it will feel sore like sore muscles, not hurt. You take ibuprofen and it will be much better. If anybody says anything, tell them to kiss it.
at my school...all of us in the popular crowd...have braces! its your choice but they'll be very sore!
