Small cavity next to bracket. Should I wait?!
Question: My dentist said I had a small cavity next to the bracket on my braces, and to fill it, she would have to remove the bracket. Should I wait and avoid all of the troubles of taking the bracket off, gluing it back on and such, or should I wait? I'm supposed to get my braces off in 7 mos. maximum, and the dentist said it was a small cavity. This is the 1st cavity I've ever had, so I'm kindof nervous. I'm thinking about avoiding all the troubles and waiting, but is 7mos. too long?

well just getting one bracket taken off and put back on is no big deal.
i say get it done now because that cavity will hurt and get worse as time passes.
plus when you get your braces off you won't want to deal with a cavity.
in 7 months what is now a small cavity will be a big cavity get it done now
No get it done asap. The longer you wait the bigger the cavity can become and cost you more money in the long run or the cavity can wind up getting up into the root and then you are not only stuck with a root canal, but possibly a crown or losing the tooth. Get it down now. You take care of the problems with they are small so they don't turn into a big one and you regret it later.
get it taken care of asap! trust me...I'm in the middle of a root canal right now and its no fun!
