Does water destroy Listerine's antibacterial effect?!

Question: Everytime I do Listerine, I become so thirsty. But I dont drink water right after Listerine because I dont want to decrease its antibacterial effect. Does it make sense to you? Should I keep doing that?

I usually brush after the Listerine...

I think the only effect it has is while its all in your mouth. Once you spit it out, I don't really think there is anything else going on... besides what's on the residue.

I'm no micro-biologist mind you... but I think that it would probably be okay for you to drink some water when you're all done.

You shouldn't eat or drink thirty minutes after so it can do its job.
