Dental bonding or veneers?!

Question:

Dental bonding or veneers?

the second tooth up top on the right side is pushed in and back- but straight- enough to bother my and be really noticed. im going in to get a evaluation on getting it fixed but want to do some research before hand- is this type of thing more of a candidate for bonding or veneers- i assume bonding will build up the surface to be more level with the other two teeth and a veneer can't do that.

any info? thanks!

Answers:

Both bonding and veneers can do that. Each has their pluses and minuses..

Bondings are quick to do (1 visit) and is very conservative (usually just requires roughing up the enamel to prep the surface to bond to), but generally not as durable as veneers and sometimes may stain depending on the filling material used and how it's polished.

Veneers are usually more durable and will be quite stain resistant (it's glazed, smooth porcelain), but takes two or more visits and requires shaving some enamel off the tooth.

Your dentist will be able to give you a more detailed explanation so you can make a decision.

Good luck, whichever you choose.
