Why i need crown?!

Question: well i had filling on front tooth but it has broken a bit 2 weeks ago my dentist said he wouldnt like to put new filling and would better put a crown...i am just wondering why?he says its a big filling but it doesnt take even half of tooth!!!what he gonna do?why he cant replace it with a new filling?

When the tooth structure becomes compromised as yours is, a composite filling is not a viable solution. A crown is placed over the existing tooth and will serve to protect the remaining tooth from further break downs. Ask for a porcelain/ceramic crown as there is no metal in them and look very natural.

gonna drill holes in your teeth ,so that tooth decay or plaques will not enter...the old filling will not bound to the new filling......good luck.......
