I grind my teeth at night sometimes. I've heard it's really bad, like it sounds like I'm going to shatter my teeth. My jaw hurts in the morning. What can you do? It's not like I'm awake and can stop doing it. Usually if I'm woken up I will stop, and can go back to sleep without grinding again.
My husband did this. I began stroking his forehead and saying soft things to comfort him without waking him up. After a few weeks, he stopped. He almost never grinds again, if he does, a few pats ends it. Grinding is caused by stress. See if you can help.
