Blood clot fell out? How long does it take for pain from dry socket to start?!

Question: I had my upper right molar (not wisdom tooth) extracted 6 days ago. It stopped bleeding after a few hours so I presume a blood clot had formed. I couldn't actually see the blood clot or the area of the extraction because my other teeth were blocking it, but when I felt the area it felt like just a hole, so I guess the blood clot was deep inside the hole.

Anyway over the next few days I noticed that I had this permanent feeling of something being stuck in my mouth, I left it alone because I just presumed it was the blood clot, but it could have been food. I wrinsed my mouth out after every meal and cleaned my teeth, but still the feeling didn't go away.

Well whatever was in their just fell out. I accidently sort of sucked on the area with my mouth without realising I was, because the feeling was so annoying and I felt the thing inside the hole dislodge. When I went to spit it out, I accidently swallowed it.

I had my upper right molar pulled out 7 days ago. What you experienced is normal. I went thru the same thing. It was food that you felt. It is going to take up to 4 weeks before the whole entire area heals. Just make sure that you eat on the other side of your mouth and that you don't eat anything small enough to get inside your hole. My hole is particularly closed, but you will be fine. If it starts to hurt, take some pain medication. You should be fine , but if you are having any other problems, call your dentist.

well you can ask for pain killers and if that doesnt help then just call your doctora nd look at you waste for a couple of days. you might have a idea of what it might be. hope i helped! lol!

call your dentist. i wish u get better

it was probably food, 6 days is enough time for the clot to fall out. I got my wisdom teeth out 2 weeks ago, and there are still holes where the teeth were and food is always getting caught in it. Rinse you mouth after every meal if it's bothering you, and use mouthwash morning and night.
