What do oral surgeons do?!

Question: i know they work with the mouth, and can pull wisdom teeth out, but what else can they do? It seems they are limited to only FMTE, which i guess is pulling wisdom teeth out?
Please describe, thanks

Oral surgeons do more than just pull teeth. They can also do surgery on the jaw and the face, maxillary sinus lifts, implant placements, biopsy lesions, can help place ball-and-chain devices to help with orthodontics, just to name a few.

In the US, oral surgeons normally don't do root canals; that's done by either general dentists or endodontist. What they can do that involves roots are apicoectimies, or root sectioning.

They do root canals and all kinds of dental surgery.

root canals, gum surgery, pull teeth. I had to have the gum reduced to expose more tooth because a crown did not fit. It took stitches and everything. ouch.

They pull teeth (all of them), do gum surgery, wire people's jaws when they've had an injury or birth defect.

There are a variety of oral procedures they perform not as commonly as the removal of wisdom teeth. This can range from unclogging blocked salivary glands to root canals. Some of their work overlaps with dentistry and orthodontia. There are a whole slew of problems that can occur in the mouth with all those teeth, gums, a tongue, etc- their job is to take care of any issues and all issues there.
