Do cavities hurt???!

Question:

Do cavities hurt???

I am getting a cavity filled tomorrow, and I have a couple questions:
1. Do they hurt?
2. Which is easier: using a gas mask or numbing?
I am also getting sealants. Do these hurt either? I am sooo worried! I have always had good teeth. I brush my teeth every day, twice a day. This is my first cavity! Please help me! Anyone with past experiences please help!

Answers:

They really dont hurt at all. They dr numbs the area with a local numbing medicine and then injects a stronger numbing medicine into your gums with a needle but you cant feel it at all. The worst is afterwards you cant feel your mouth for a few hours after hes done.
The only risk you will of having it hurt is if the cavity goes right to the root of the tooth or the dentist isnt a good dentist.
Good luck and don't stress it will be easier than u think!
