Advice about novicane?!

Question: I went to the dentist yesturday, he gave me novicane in my lip, and my lip still feels tingly and numb. Isn't it supposed to wear off by the day after?

give it a little more time and if it still feels numb, call ur dentist and tell him or her about it

First of all, dentists no longer use Novocaine. Second of all, there are several different local anesthetics that have different lengths of time before they wear off. Lidocaine or Xylocaine is often used and wears off after 2-4 hours. Mepivicaine is often used and wears off after 2-3 hours. Marcaine is not used too often but takes a very long time to wear off as long as 8-12 hours.
