eh...thats a coin tosser. it definately isnt good for you at all. but if u want something to be less hard on ur teeth try sugar in the raw. its pure sugar cane. u dont have to use as much either

As far as tooth decay goes, the worst things for your teeth are sugar and very acidic foods (lemons, vinegar). However, anything that sits on your teeth for extended periods can produce bacteria and lead to decay. Best practice is to floss and brush several times a day and don't eat or drink after you brush at night.

P.S. I don't know what kind of artificial sweetener you use, but most are not good for you. My personal experience with Splenda is that my blood pressure, which has always been on the low side, went through the roof. I later heard that a major hospital here in NC discontinued using the same product with both employees and patients for the same reason.

You're right they aren't as bad for your teeth. This is because they are harder for the bacteria on your teeth to ferment which means they produce less acid and consequently less decay.

Try a sugarless gum with xylitol as it's sweetener (I think that it is the most common type used today). Xylitol can actually be good for your teeth! It promotes saliva secretion which helps to fight tooth decay. I have never heard of an artificial sweetener causing high bp, but that's not to say that it wouldn't or couldn't. I am a dental hygiene student and almost everyone that I have come into contact with in the dental field praises artificial sweeteners (especially xylitol) for the positive effects they have on a persons teeth. I wish I still had some of my hygiene journals (Dimensions of dental hygiene) so that I could give you some direct quotes.....
