Answers:

would it hurt? that will be a subjective question, basically it wont, however, if you dont have your teeth cleaned every six months or as what your dentist advice then it might hurt a little.

in cleaning the teeth, what we dentist do, is remove the calcular deposits...imagine that youve eaten cheese, and those cheese hardens and they stayed on the crevice, in between your teeth and gums. If you could open your mouth big enough al look in front of the mirror, look for those hardened cheese/cement like material at the back of your lower teeth.

if you are seeing those, it about time to ring your dentist and make an appointment. If you see dark brown or black, this would mean that you need to proceed to your dentist ASAP.

now what hurt? what hurts is when those calcular deposits fall beneath the gums, as we remove them the tip of our instrument will come in contact with the root or near the root of your teeth thereby making it sensitive.

how can it not hurt or be sensitive? brush properly, floss and have your teeth cleaned by the dentist every months or more as needed...some needs to be cleaned even after 3 months as they easily formed calcular deposits, remember the hardedn cheese like material.

how long would the cleaning take place, normally its 15-20 minutes depending on the severity of the calcular deposits that needs to be removed.
