Braces can stay on anywhere from months to years...ask your orthodontist.

my brother had braces 4 2 years and his teeth were bad but not really bad
idk..it depends hwo ur teeth r!
some people can last years with them

my teeth were really screwed up before
ive had my braces for four years now and my cousin had her braces on and off for 8 years
scary thought

well, it really depends on what your dentist thinks about your teeth. but on average, its like 3 yrs, and then a retainer.

there's actually no maximum on wearing braces... when ur teeth starting shifting and are straight is when they will take it off

I have no clue what the max amount of time is; however, your orthodontist should have told you how long you're estimated to have the braces to fix the problem.

Your orthodontist should be able to provide you an estimate, but it's an estimate only. There are a number of factors that determine the length of time; including how much you adhere to the things you have to do (like wearing rubber bands).

Ask your Dentist......

up to 4 years

umm i have braces too and my teeth aren't that bad. they told me that 1-1/2 to 2 years is how long i should have mine on but if your teeth are screwed up really bad then it might be longer...unfortunately:)

It depends on what your orthodonist tells you.. i had to have 2 teeth pulled to only have braces on for 2 years. my teeth were really messed up. make sure that you wear your retainer so that you don't have to get braces again.

I had mine for 2 yrs, 2 months, and ten days. But I am not counting. I had a sideways tooth. It will go faster if you don't eat bad foods. Nothing sticky and crap like that. Just take care of your teeth, and they should come off in about 2 yrs.

ha no there isnt a maximum time! My teeth were kinda bad not awful but not great I was only supposed to have em on for a year and a half but I ended up having them for 4 and a half! I just got em off!

IT can average between 18 months to 2 years.

hmm well i can't fully tell you cause i need to more than "screwed up to the max" if i had a pic maybe i can tell you.

i have braces right now. i think i'm getting them off 2009 i had them since 07. it depends on the teeth. my orthodontist said that if you take really really good care of it then it takes more effect and you might be able to get them off a week or a month earlier than expected.

but remember depends on the teeth

my teeth aren't that messed up only a so-so overbite and my bottom row from teeth were overcrowding and now its aligned and its only the overbite left now

It usually takes about 2 years. But it's all up to your orthodontist and how fast your teeth move. After you get your braces off, you get to wear a retainer for a year. It is all worth the wait when you get them off, your teeth are beautiful.

there's really no max. its just what ur doing with them. u shouldnt be biting anything hard. your orthodontist shouldve given you a list of what not to eat and HOW to eat certain things. if u follow the list, your braces would come off sooner than people who dont follow it. eating or biting anything hard would lessen your chance of getting them off soon.

it could be sooner and it could be much longer. it really depends on what happen while you are wearing braces. i was suppose to have brace for 3 months but i keep breaking them so it took 6 months. you should wear the rubber bands and don't break your braces. everyone i know who wore the rubber bands said it sped up the process so what would be 2 year would end up being 1 year and 6 months if you wear the rubber bands

it varys with diffrent teeth and i thank god i already have naturaly straight teeth and your lucky because i keep asking my doctor for braces and he keeps telling me NO!
