Has anyone had to have their jaw broken...?!

Question: because their bottom jaw was longer than their top jaw? if so, how painful was it, how much discomfort was there afterwards, and for how long? also, did you experience any nerve damage?

Pain's not a big problem but you can expect swelling. Your lower lip might well be numb to start with. This will slowly go away but can take weeks or months. It might leave an area which is not numb but feels "odd"

No, but it sounds very painful.

yes when i played rugby i had my jaw broken in 4 places it hurt like hell but the worst thing is after a week to 10 days i missed eating food.

not me personally.
but my brother bit the kerb after a motorcycle accident.
OUCH!
they operated to straighten the broken bones & wired it up to heal for 6 weeks, he had to have a nurse by his bed ready to cut the wires should he choke.
yes it hurt, he lost weight from being unable to eat solid food but we liquidised all his food & mars-bars to keep him going.
yes he does have nerve damage, lots of nerves for the lower & upper teeth run beneath the surface & can easily be damaged.
he still has a long, long scar on his face, but it's never deterred the ladies.
scars are cool & makes him look like a hard-man, well that's what he tells me!

no that sounds really really painful. im not sure why anyone would intentionally break their jaw. im sure ur problem cant be soo bad you need to have ur jaw proken
