I'm not much of a gum chewer...Though uh, There is lots of reasons...As you can see in the 3rd link...Fresh breath, Something to do, People sometimes chew it when going on airplanes to releave the pressure.

not a teenager, but I like to chew it to freshen breath.
Plus it makes my mouth feel cleaner until I have time to brush my teeth. :0D

Teenagers and anyone else who likes to chew gum usually enjoys the fresh taste it leaves plus it helps relieve stress!!

I like that myself, and believe me, I haven't been a teen in a hundred years!!

I am an RN

My guess would be because they have lots of energy and need something to do all the time. And they are always trying to impress the opposite sex. Bad breath is never attractive.

cuz our breath stinks. duh

we are very social people and we dont want bad breath. i think thats the best reason why teenagers like to chew gum.

I chew gum to prevent myself from biting my nails, but I also LOVE the taste of bubblegum.

fresh breath, tastes good... i personally chew gum before/during tests 'cause it supposedly "helps you focus" or "wake up" your brain haha
