Any dentists please?!


Question: my dentist messed up my teeth ive had braces and payed for everything and now i have a retainer im sorry my daughter got her teeth messed up and now she has a retainer...she just lost a tooth the one right next to the very back tooth the dentist said they were using that tooth that she lost as a spacer. she lost the tooth and she had another tooth coming in alredy and the tooth is crooked! it growing the wrong way its growing the way by the roof of your mouth they made a mistake and now i have to pay all over agian what shpuld i do?

I'm trying to understand what you are describing. It sounds like your daughter lost a baby tooth and the permanent tooth is erupting out of position. If your daughter just had a biteplate, it was performing another function and didn't necessarily have anything to do with that baby tooth. If she had full braces and this has now occurred, then the dentist would be responsible for finishing the treatment, since it couldn't be done if all the teeth hadn't erupted. If he was using the biteplate to guide erupting teeth, then it sounds like she will now need full braces.

You really should ask the dentist what he is hoping to accomplish with the treatment plan and what in what sequence and length of time all phases will take place.
