Is it normal to have an abscess after a root canal?!

Question: I had root canal 2 days ago for 2 teeth . I had pain and now I have swelling . If the teeth are now lost and the dentist will have to extract them , will he reimburse me the $1200 I have to pay (the insurance pays the rest) .

Probably not, but I would sure ask! Maybe they can work out something for you. And, no, it's NOT normal to have that after a root canal! Go back now! It might just be an infection that can be cured without losing the teeth. If not, and they have to be pulled, I think I would switch to another dentist. It doesn't sound like yours is very good. Good luck.

I doubt it. If you have to have them extracted, you will probably not be charged for the extraction. That's how the offices I work in would do it anyway.

depending on the complexity of the root structure you might have to see root canal specialist.
