Ok so i just got my braces off and i have retainers now?!
Question: and i can't talk! well i can but i don't make much sense..
how do i make it so i can talk clearly? is it possible?
is it just for the first couple of days or what?
oh and i have to wear the retainers for a whole year
so is there anyone who didnt wear them for the time they were supposed to?
if so did ur teeth really get crooked again?

If you don't want all of the money and time spent on braces to be in vein, you need to wear your retainers. You need to practice speaking with them in and you will learn how to make speech sounds normally. Say tongue twisters out loud to make use of the more difficult to put together sounds and say and spell out loud words like Mississippi. You will have to practice but the sounds will come easier.
You should get used to the retainer after a couple a weeks and be talking fine, but you definetely need to wear them! I had my braces off and lost my retainer and neglected getting a new one and within a year my teeth were back to the way they were before braces. I regret it so much now (all the time and money) so definetely wear yours, it is worth the short term speech problem to have nice, straight teeth. (and you probably notice it more than anyone else will:-)
you are going to feel like that for a short time, just be patient with it. I did the biggest mistake of not wearing my retainers and my teeth are moving now. I regret it very much and I really hope nobody makes that mistake because all the effort and money that you invested will be meaningless if you don't wear your retainers.
It takes some getting used to. I think that you will be able to talk better after awhile.
If you don't wear them as you were instructed your teeth will revert and you will have to get braces again.
Wear your retainer as instructed. If anyone makes fun of you for the way you look/talk, then they are a really small minded person who you don't want to be dealing with anyway.
