well i think a good doctor always starts with a proper diagonosis and then makes the treatment plan but ur orthodontist seems to be in alot of hurry or may be he is too much overconfident. i dont know if he is right or wrong but he is definitely not following the proper procedure.

taking a second opinion would be a better choice.

your orthodontist is using...what type of straightner? DDM and ODM ALWAYS make a mold prior to placing braces on including the invisiline braces, it helps them to mold and place the brackets, if he didnt' make a mold of your teeth then he's full of it, also Xray's help identify any other problems and also let him/her know if there is crowding and where to space....are you sure he's a REAL orthodontist? I'd go to www.dentist.com and look him up.

Please seek a second opinion. All competent orthodontists take x-rays and make molds before placing the brackets. That is the only way to know how to treat the patient correctly and to identify any underlying problems.
