The roof of my mouth HELP?!

Question:

The roof of my mouth HELP?

The grooves or whatever you may call them on the roof of my mouth , one of them towards the front of my mouth is hurting BAD the feeling that I can best describe is (when you eat a lime, chips, hard cereal, too many suckers) And you know how that can cut up the roof of one's mouth! Well I have had that happen and it hurts for a couple of days then heals. Well this just keeps getting more painful my uncle says it looks like a blister, It kind of makes sense to me because I had 2 fever blisters on my lip and a blister on the lower inside of my lip around the same time this appeared.
I only get fever blisters when stressed out or really upset. But what is going on in the roof of my mouth?
The part feels like its cut open and it hurts to drink and especially eat. It is swollen and red. (as far as I can see.)
Also if it is just irritated let me know what I can do to speed the healing process and how long is this going to last?
Thank you so much I HIGHLY appreciate this!

Answers:

The above answers are great (lysine and salt water rinses), but if the ulcer continues to give you problems, you may want to see your doctor or dentist for a prescription. Recently I had the same exact symptoms (stress related) and was prescribed Kenalog, a corticosteroid that helps relieve the pain. It worked well to soothe, but ulcers remained for 1 1/2 weeks.

Hope you feel better soon!
