Answers: for a dentist how many degrees must you earn to become one? and which?
im not sure to get ur question. but you need only one degree a DDS or a DMD depending of wich university u go too. Its the same degree, just different names. then u must pass the american/canadian board exam right after u graduate. taths it.
In canada, you dont need a bachelor in science to get into dentistry depending of the province, but i think in the us u have to have a bachelor first to get in dentistry shcool.
I'm not a dentist but have been a dental assistant for 20+ years. For school, you go to 4 years of college, your last two are "pre-dental" where your focus will be on biology/pharmacology/anatomy/physiology. Then, you go to 3-4 years of dental school, depending on which school you go to and how many classes you've covered in college. You'll get either a D.D. S. (Doctor of Dental Science) or DMD (I think that stands for Doctor of Dental Medicine). From there, you can go to school longer if you wish to specialize in a certain field (Oral surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics) but you don't have to receive another degree for those.
Hope that was helpful.
