My daughter had a frenectomy done last week. Did the doctor do it wrong?!

Question: she has a gap between her front teeth. I thought the doctor was going to remove some of the tissue between her teeth as well as the muscle between her lip and gum. He did not. He just removed the muscle. How are her teeth supposed to go together without removing the tissue between them? Did he not do it correctly?

that is exactly what should be done - he's done nothing wrong
this allows for the teeth to be brought together easily with Otho treatments in the future and once those appliances are removed - the muscle will not pull them back apart

get a second opinion from a professional

How old is your daughter???? The teeth may come together by themselves if she is around 13 or younger [are the cuspids erupted yet?]. Otherwise, she will probably need braces to bring them together. In any case ask your doc what the plan is, not this forum where most people are just guessing. He didn't do anything wrong!
