What would you do??!

Question: Ok so i went to the dentist today because of a chipped molar (the ones on the side used for chewing) turns out it was my last baby tooth and there's no tooth below it and since i had a little infection they decided I should just have it pulled out anyways since its going to have to come out eventually. However, i'm an international student here at the university and therefore i have an international health insurance card. Mine is based in Paris so the dentist said that they dont accept it. I'd have to pay the $3000 tooth replacement fee if i wanted to get the tooth pulled and replaced with an incision so i wont have a hole there.

Its kind of towards the back (but not really, hard to explain, if i smile with all my teeth you wont notice but once i open my mouth you can tell) otherwise, no one would notice anyways.. do you think its worth paying $3000 to get it replaced?

It is your decision but you should know that once a tooth is pulled the surrounding teeth will shift. The opposing tooth will move out because there is nothing biting against it to keep it in place. The teeth to each side of the missing tooth will lean in towards the hole. This could eventually lead to losing the opposing tooth and/or having root exposure problems with the surrounding teeth that shift over. However, your DDS should have offered you a temporary solution also, until you can get home to have this fixed. Either fix the chip or they could make you a removable piece with that tooth on it and that should be considerably cheaper. Good luck

Well, it really depends. It doesn't seem that noticeable, but if it is, then i would suggest replacing it.

can you have it replaced when you go back home?

Well, if it doesn't bother you and you feel deep down that it isn't worth it, then you shouldn't pay that bull crap of a price (My opinion personally).
If it is bothering you though, you should defiantly have it done. Hope this helps!

I think it could probably wait until you get home.
You need what is called a bridge, and there's a reason to get them.

But go in with a grain of salt, this is a funny story

The healthiest thing to do when you lose a tooth is have it replaced. Otherwise, you risk problems with biting, chewing and speaking, headaches and muscle pain. Or so they say, read the story above....

No it is not worth the price or the pain of having a metal post implanted into the gums then after that heals a fake tooth glued around it. If it is not noticeable when you smile leave it alone because in a years time your other teeth will shift a little bit and fill it in leaving a small gap

I wouldn't pay it but that's me and you could make up a cool story about how it happened. I got my finger cut off with a table saw once. They put the finger back on but the old table saw story sucks so I told people I was attacked by a shark. I was so cool until the brace and stitches came out then back to old zombie slayer 1000 again, but a cool six months.
